Our small farm with it’s perfect location and facilities was purchased in the summer of 2006 in Victoria, British Columbia Canada. Our thoughts were to board, start and train horses, and enjoy. A state of the art round pen was built to assist with this endeavor.  However, we quickly realized this special little farm had something different destined for it.

In our past experience in the guest ranch business and working with quarter horses and their unpredictable nature, we wanted something different. We were looking for a breed that could pull a carriage, ride comfortably and had a wonderful disposition.

So the search to fit our criteria began, and we ended up being drawn to the beauty of Gypsy Cobs with their perfect size, long forelocks, manes, tails and feather, there seemed to be nothing to compare with this breed.  Rick Sorenson (owner) then recalled seeing the Gypsies and their caravans pulled by Gypsy Cobs, in his many travels to Europe in his Nurseryman line of work. In further reading and studying, he kept hearing of the wonderful disposition the Gypsy Cob has. So, the decision was made, find the best supplier (Meadow Farms of England was chosen), attain a superb line, and then offer their offspring to others in North America so that they could enjoy what he came to find out was an outstanding breed!

Meadow Farms proceeded to find a very fine mare in Victoria ( born 2001 to dam “The Teddy Mare”  and sire “Robert Watson’s Old Horse” , son of “the Roadsweeper”)  with her 6 month colt, Sundance (born  in Wales 2006).
In the meantime Victoria had been bred to the sire “Mickey” a heavy b/w stallion before leaving Wales ,  born at our farm, this offspring of Victoria we named Duke (born 2007), he has turned out to be the exact stature and disposition the Gypsies had been working so hard to achieve

We felt two top quality mare’s was best to accomplish our criteria. Meadow Farms kept searching for us and found Gwyneth with her gorgeous blue eyes and being the first offspring of our dam Victoria was the answer. Sired by ‘Mr. Biker Connors” Tom Harkers heavy stallion, born 2004 in Wales. We had her bred by the very prized sire “De Jango” before leaving Wales to insure top quality, Gwyneth’s offspring was born in 2008 at Pride of Place Stables, a gorgeous filly we have named Josie.

Since the arrival of our Gypsy Horses to our farm in Victoria, B.C. Canada, Kurt Sorenson has put his natural horsemanship skills to work to accomplish starting and training each of them to ride and pull the carriages, showing folks in fairs their beauty and many abilities and of course having great fun with this marvelous breed of horse!
